8 STEPS TO CLEAN YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES

Hey, Beauties! Can’t remember the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? Hopefully, that will never happen again once you find out the great benefits to keeping them clean.

Why Should I Clean my Dirty Brushes?

They accumulate bacteria and cause your pores to clog.

Clogged pores = breakouts.

To avoid spotty application.

Your makeup application will be smoother with clean brushes.

Brushes

For my makeup application, I use a combination of the 15 Piece Brush Set as it has enough brushes for a complete look. We also have a variety of other brush sets if you Beauties are looking for a starter kit: The 5 Piece Brush Set, the 7 Piece Brush Set, the 9 Piece Brush Set,  the 11 Piece Brush Set, and the Elite Series Brush Collection (my next purchase!).

Here are the three rules I live by when it comes to my sponges:

1. Don’t soak your brushes as it will cause them to start shedding.

2. Always clean properly before use with our Brush Cleaner and Disinfectant Spray

3. Don’t let your brushes dry on a towel as the bristles can become mildewed. Instead, let them air-dry by placing them upright in a cup.

Bottom line: the cleaner, the better! (when it comes to anything, really)

  • Please don’t stand them up in a cup to dry. It will allow water to settle and collect at the base of the bristles. His can weaken the adhesive and/or cause mildew. Instead I place a piece of paper towel in the drain board and I place a rolled towel in the drain board as well. I allow the brushes to dry with the handle slightly higher than the brush end. I’ve had no issues with the bristles becoming misshapened.
