Maskne: How to Manage It

Ahhh the joys of 2020, a new type of acne emerging: MASKNE. Exciting? Nope, but don't worry, Beauty because we are here with some tips and tricks to help the problem. While it may be annoying, we have pieced together a four-step routine that will make focusing on your skincare routine enjoyable and help stop maskne before it can even start.

1. Cleanse Away

Cleansing your skin is the first step to having healthy, clean skin, and a fresh canvas. With the lightweight formula of Vitamin C Cleanser, you will feel the difference in your skin immediately. I like to go in with this cleanser every morning when I wake up to give my skin a refreshing boost.

2. Tone It Out

While cleansing does the job, it is important to really get down to the source and deep cleanse your pores. After cleansing, take one to two pumps of the toner of your choice and sweep it all over your face and neck. My go-to has always been the Revitalizing Toner. With my dry skin and the increase in washing (due to lovely maskne), this toner moisturizes the skin without stripping. Need something a little stronger. Spot Tone with an exfoliating toner like Fruit Acid Lotion, or alternate a few times a week to remove dead skin and clear skin.

3. Treat Those Blemishes

Once your skin is feeling cleansed and refreshed, it doesn't stop there. To take care of this maskne situation it's time to give your skin a lil bit of extra love. To get rid of bacteria and to make those pores extra squeaky clean, try out our Blemish Treatment Mask. Apply this mask on your full face or try it out overnight as a spot treatment.

4. Spot Treatment

While prevention is the first step in managing maskne, that doesn’t mean breakouts won’t happen. So how can you deal with breakouts that have already popped their way out? My go-to cover up is our drying lotion. Packed with acne-fighting ingredients, use this drying lotion as a spot treatment. And the best part? Our drying lotions come in a range of different shades to blend into your skin tone.

We highly recommend following these four steps and hope they work as well for you as they do for us. Check out these products along with our masks on sale RN Let us know in the comments down below what you think! And don’t forget, we are always a DM on Instagram away for any questions.
