Oily skin can definitely be the struggle, but once you get the right routine down everything changes! It can be hard to find the right balance of products that will help oily skin dry out without drying you out TOO much. That is definitely something you don't want as it will lead your skin to want to produce more oil to compensate for it being dry. So where do we go with that?
Looking for the right oily skincare routine? Similar to our Best Skincare for Dry Skin Blog, we are going to go over a full OFRA routine.
In The AM and PM
The most important step to keeping your skin clean, healthy, and glowing, is to cleanse. Cleansing is so important in todays climate (especially with wearing a mask all day). The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is splash my face with water. Once I am feeling refresh and awake, I take a couple pumps of the Foaming Vitamin C Cleanser. The best part about this cleanser is that it has ingredients that are suitable for all skin types. This is great for oily skin because it cleanses skin without stripping it dry.
After my skin is cleansed, I go in with the Essential Toner for a final swipe. This toner helps neutralize skin with ingredients like Aloe Vera and Rosemary Extract. Clean ingredients that are healthy all skin types. Why do I chose to use this toner for my oily skin? Because it has properties' that I notice balance out my skin after use.
Next up is my fave step! Serum. Serum can be tricky, but not as tricky as oily skin is ;). Like I said earlier, after cleansing and toning, it is important to not completely strip oily skin of all oils because it will just want to produce even more! To maintain a healthy amount of moisture, I go in with the B5 serum. This serum is formulated to feel lightweight and seamlessly seep into skin. 10/10 recommend. Not to mention, this product has ingredients that help diminish the appearance of dark spots and acne scars.
To lock everything in and finish off my skincare routine, I go in with the Oil-Free Moisturizer. This moisturizer is my all time MUST-HAVE product. With the moisture set in from the serum, this moisturizer does the job of locking everything in. It is so lightweight that after it melts into your skin, you won't even realize you've put a moisturizer on (in the best way possible). Your skin will feel supple and soft!
The Weekly Extras
1. Fruit Acid Lotion
Forget Spa Sunday! Join me in my weekly Spa Saturday. The Fruit Acid Lotion is my weekend special that is a must. When it comes to oily skin, it is no surprise that breakouts are going to happen. This treatment helps alleviate any pesky and annoying dark spots that may have popped in over time.
2. Volcanic Clarifying Mask
Aside from the Fruit Acid Lotion, I try to use the Volcanic Clarifying Mask every Sunday! This is a clay mask that you apply to cleansed skin. About five minutes in this mask will start to dry down and tighten. After about 15 minutes, it is time to rinse it off! This masks helps with firming and detoxifying skin for a fresh start to a new week. Hawaiian Clay, Aloe Vera, Vitamin C, and Hyaluronic Acid are just a few of the ingredients found in this formula.
