Q. How can I make my makeup look flawless?
A. We want to start off by saying no one is completely flawless, and that makes us all even more beautiful and unique! However, your makeup can certainly look flawless. The KEY to a perfect makeup look is skin care. While most people have oily skin or dry skin, using a proper skin care routine can make all the difference. That being said, it is a good idea to have oil control products or moisturizers in your makeup bag depending on your skin type. Some makeup kits even come with products to prep your face! After you moisturize and make sure your face is clean, the first thing you should apply is face primer, then concealer. If you’re using a liquid blush or liquid highlighter, apply that next, before your foundation. However, if you are using powder blush or pressed powder highlighter, you should use foundation first. When it comes to foundation, you must make sure it matches your skin tone and decide if you want light, medium, or full coverage. After that, it’s time to have fun with your eyeshadow palette and gel or liquid liner! Just be creative and do whatever makeup look makes you feel good, or find a tutorial that you like and add your own spin with your cosmetics. The possibilities are literally endless! Make sure to have a good makeup remover so you can wipe it all off and have a clean face at the end of the day!
Q. How do I make my makeup glow up?
A. Even though everyone has their own glow, there are a few things you can do with your makeup to shine even brighter. Choosing a good foundation that matches your skin tone is one of them, and so is perfecting your skincare routine. Assuming you have the basics of makeup down, there are a few smaller things you can experiment with when perfecting your makeup look! The first is to use lip balm when you prep your skin; smooth and moisturized lips are a huge part of your overall look. Another tip is to put your blush higher up on your cheekbone, almost in between your eye and ear. This will give your face a lifted and lighter look. Also, be sure to use a shade of blush that complements your skin tone, whether it be pink blush, red blush, or even a more peachy blush. A lip makeup hack we have grown to love is using a lip liner that is the same color as the lipstick you're wearing to lightly line the very edge of your lips, giving you a full and luxurious looking pout. When it comes to your eyes, it’s really all about experimenting and finding what works best for you! Step outside of your comfort zone and try blue eyeshadow or a cat eye look; it’s up to you! To complement your eyes, we recommend using an eyebrow pencil or eyebrow gel to shape and fill in your eyebrows. Since they are right above the windows to your soul, eyebrows are a much more prominent feature than we think! If you need inspiration or advice on what products to use or how to do anything, consulting a makeup tutorial is always a good idea!
